National Award Winner: November 2005- This project has been honored with the PRIMO Award (Peer Reviewed Instructional Materials Online) by Association of College & Research Libraries. The ACRL, one of the eleven divisions of the American Library Association (ALA), provides resources and guidance to research librarians around the country. Their function includes promoting and highlighting instructional projects that help teach information skills in a networked environment.

The goal of this project was to develop a web-based tutorial that teaches visitors how to use the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL). This project was showcased at the 2004 Faculty Development Grant Showcase by Principal Investigators, Beth Layton and Pam Sherwill-Navarro. The tutorial has a parallel structure, modeling specific behavior through narrated case studies and subsequently inviting students to apply the behavior in closed simulations. The example movies were developed using Flash MX and narrated by students at the Theatre department in the University of Florida. The simulations were developed using RoboDemo.
